Are you truly ready for that audit or investigation? Honest mistakes happen, but the key is to demonstrate to investigators that it simply wasn’t “fraud.” You need to put your best foot forward. We have found in recent years that maintaining evidence of an active compliance program and taking documented steps to correct problems can show that at worst case you made a mistake but have not committed fraud.
