Compliance Track
Wednesday, April 17, 2019 - 1:00pm to 2:30pm

You deal with formal and informal complaints, investigations, internal audits, critical incidents  and credible information about potential overpayments every day in our highly regulated EMS industry.  But when should these “issues” be “put in writing” and documented is a common question that all EMS agencies face.  And exactly what should be done when potential problematic issues are revealed is a critical process that needs a systematic approach to ensure legal compliance. This session will help you better understand what needs to be documented and how incidents should be handled internally and when reports need to be made to external agencies, and how this documentation can demonstrate that your compliance program is functioning and effective. Interaction with legal counsel to help protect reports from potential discovery will also be discussed.
